I went to the Hogsmeade safehouse last night, because I wanted to pass my invisibility cloak to Ron through the colocation box.

While I was there, I noticed there are Enforcers outside. It's been found -- I mean, they can't see it but they know where it is. Which makes it rather useless for anyone escaping on foot from Hogwarts. Also, I was the secret-keeper for the Hogsmeade safehouse, and I can no longer pass on the secret at the school -- if you wanted to try to get the galleon kids out via the secret room (assuming you could even get there) I'd have to come through in person to pass on the secret.

But, Hydra is the secret keeper for Malfoy Manor, and she's still at the school. So Draco and I are going to move the colocation box from the Hogsmeade Safehouse to Malfoy Manor, if there aren't any objections. Everyone in the Order has the Malfoy Manor secret already, so everyone should still have access to it.

Wands. The castle's given them a storage room just beside the suite the LP was using. Fourth floor. At the end of the corridor that runs past the Divination tower stairs.

They've got them in secure boxes by year, and there're a couple of Enforcers there at all times. They're storing other things in there, too, I think. I haven't actually been in, but there're crates and casks in there. My guess is they've got Paralysis Powder and Goggling Gas. Those are pretty common control substances MLE issue to Enforcers, but I've heard talk about them being used on crowds before. Both are inhalants--y'know, they can throw them at you and you breath them in. The Paralysis Powder they'd have to be really careful not to get up their own noses because it blows every which way. (If it were me, I wouldn't try using a giant cloud of it, but maybe they've got some way to control it I don't know.) The Goggling Gas is easier for them to direct at a particular area--it's more controllable over all. Essentially, the gas could be useful for confunding a whole crowd, but it dissipates pretty quickly. The Paralysis Powder works much longer, and it's not as if someone can come along and revive you with Finite Incantatem is they catch you with it.

Anywiz. We should talk about what we can do if it comes to them trying to use that sort of stuff on us.

Ron,

Fourth floor, what? Have you any idea what charms secure the strongboxes? Are there any wards on the door, apart from the guards?

Dash it, we've Potions all day tomorrow. We'd better sit together at breakfast, you me and Hydra, and try to discuss what's involved.

...I know about a dozen ways to thoroughly explode things, if we need a distraction.

I'm an entrepreneur. I'm not going to need a NEWT in Potions.

Pansy,

I say, that's appreciated, but I daresay the goal will be to get the wands with neither explosive diversions or widespread destruction during our final N.E.W.T. I'm certain MLE would expect that anything of that sort is occurring precisely to mask an attempt to gain access to your wands. Certainly they would act swiftly and decisively to put a stop to any shenanigans. At present, we can hope that there will be an opportune moment when everyone is already armed or when we can retrieve the wands without anyone noticing until we need them.

But do hold that thought, what. We just might need explosions before this is over.

Yeah, the strongboxes are under MLE protocol locks. I can share the basic concept with you. Theoretically you have to have a registered badge and then it should be keyed to each individual enforcer, but they've been here long enough now and they keep changing who's assigned up here--have you noticed? they're rotating who's pulling duty--that I'd bet you they've gone to a default opening spell. So a badge (which I've got) and one of the default MLE locking protocols.

Maybe Hydra can find out 1) if I'm right that they've given up recasting the lock for every fresh shift and, if that's true, 2) which of the defaults they're using.
