Chaining spells are brilliant. I think I was just getting a handle on that first part last night and it sort of clicked into place that one time, with two of the spells, and I could feel it, you know? Anyways. I think we'll have a lot to work on over hols.

Raz and Siz have this duelling suite at Spence that we can use, and they told me we'd be able to come over whenever to work on stuff. The people in the training group, I mean. And we can pass it on, too.

So do you think Daphs'd be up for joining in this summer, or would it be too weird?

I was thinking if we brought in Blaise and Daphs, we'd have to watch ourselves more, but it'd be good practise, and it might be worthwhile depending on how things shake out at the end of term with the contest.

If you'd asked me a few weeks ago I would have said yes, but now I'm not so sure. She's been in a bit of a... mood, I suppose.

She's giving me all sorts of signs that she's frustrated with our staged relationship and wants something real. And in her mind there's no reason we'd not make a perfectly good pairing.

She thinks it's a bit unfair that I get to have so many "secrets," too.

I really don't know if she wants to learn about the Order, though. Or if the others would even have her.

Yeah.

Maybe she just feels left out? I guess that's different from actually wanting to be a part of things. And she doesn't know the half of what she'd be getting into, either.

If she's invited to Spence, it might be a way to get her feeling like she's a part of something.

Hydra can check her out over hols, just to see what's going on, maybe?

I've indicated that the "secrets" I have are probably not things she would want to be a part of. Either she's finding it harder to believe me or she feels that she ought to be able to be the judge of that for herself. I'm not at all unsympathetic to her position.

You mean "check her out" as in legilimise her? See where her thoughts might really lie?

Yeah.

I was just thinking about how with Katie, I never gave her a chance to make those sort of choices. Because I was worried about keeping her safe. Which is important, but I can see why she'd get hacked off.

I don't know.

I think it's worth thinking over, though.

I haven't even considered Daphne's safety very thoroughly. I probably should. I don't fancy her the way I suspect she wants me to, but I don't want anything bad to happen to her, either.

If we did give her the choice to learn about the Order, and she said yes, turning down obliviation... well, I'm worried she'd only say yes because of me.
