Jan. 12th, 2014 05:02 pmHey. So I guess you probably know pretty much everything we do. About the pins, and who has them, and what they're for. And what I'm supposed to do, which is send off reports and things about how people are doing.
He sent me a letter he'd written himself. Which he doesn't do. It was really short, and didn't say much -- just that I'd be judging people, and I'd be his eyes and ears, and it was my job to make sure that the best of the best got chosen, but he wrote it, so I guess this is really important to him. And it's sort of
I know it's not a good thing, exactly, but you know. It's an opportunity. I'm trying to think about it that way. And I'm not sure if I can make up rules. Or who the other judges will be. Or how much I can play favourites. They might want me to be unfair. Who knows.
Anyways.
Things are sort of tense around here. Especially in Slytherin. Everyone's eying everyone else, and someone's made a betting list with odds on it, and I'm trying to sort out ways to keep Vince and Greg from trying to do something they'd think would be clever, like messing with Draco in his sleep, or cornering Zach Smith in the loo and beating him up.
And Katie isn't happy about being on the list. At all. We didn't get much time to talk about it really. But she's really scared. And worried about her family. And angry. And I don't know how angry she is with me, but I think she is, even though she didn't say a lot about it, because it's my fault she's in the running. And there's some stuff I just can't tell her, and it's hard, and all I could really do is say that it was going to be okay, and she didn't have to want to be on the council, and we could work out a plan or something. Which sounds really stupid.
