I was thinking we might do a Flying Club thing after the New Year to help map out some of the Octoboros routes. If anyone's up for it, let me know.

And. If we could do a Tea Appreciation, that'd be nice too.

Anytime you want to visit, Harry. For as long as you can stay.

Harry,

I say, Tea Appreciation would be smashing. I shan't have to go to the Ministry on Wednesday, would that do?

Do you think people would be interested in continuing readings, in the new term? It might be a bit of a crush if we're also starting up defence practice again but it did seem an ideal venue to bring in new blood, if you follow me.

I've a few ideas about titles we might try to find, what, should we make a regular occurrence of it.

My parents have some contraband stuff in the attic that I could maybe bring.

There's this one author, Tolken something, whose books are pretty snitch.

Suze,

Tolkien, yes. You've copies? I say, that's jolly brilliant! He's just who I was thinking might do well. Oh, I say, good show, old girl. See if you've a copy of The Hobbit--that's the best one to start.

I've the copies of Brontë (if Sally-Anne can stomach reading Jane Eyre again, what!) and Austen--although, I rather think perhaps those might not be best until the group is well and truly committed, if you follow me.

Luna's read LeGuin and that's another excellent choice, what.

I say, have a look in your attic and see what else there is.

I wonder how many others have a secret trove of books? I mean to say, the way Ernie and Megan knew A Christmas Carol, and that sort of thing. It might make selecting titles more...more collaborative, if they thought they could bring their own...guilty pleasures.

Mum's sent me some Austen. I'd no idea you read her! Sense & Sensibility was lovely, but Pride & Prejudice is my favourite so far. I've just started Emma, and she's ever so funny.

And I think you're right about people bringing their own books from home. Which would be brilliant.

Yes, I wonder whether we should let them know, what? They'd have to look round for anything they want to bring between now and Sunday, or else wait until Easter if they're going home then.

Perhaps we might send round a Galleon about it and encourage spreading the word from there.

Yes, I think that'd be just the thing we ought to do.

Evs,

Yes, my mother reads her Austen almost once a year, or used to do, at any rate.

I do enjoy them, what, but in the case of Emma, what, I find that my sympathies rest entirely with Mr Knightley for most of the novel. One can only hope he successfully curbs her worse qualities beyond the limits of what the page tells.

I'm currently feeling rather sorry for poor Harriet, and Emma is terribly short on common sense.

I wonder if Miss Austen had a young friend like Emma? She so clearly likes her, but finds her utterly silly. As do I.

I've not read that one! She sounds a little bit like Brown, except less horrid.

I'll lend it once I'm done, if you'd like.

Yeah, that's one! With the dragon and all.

My parents know I know what's in that trunk--they'd be well cross about my taking it school, but there's always the switch-the-dust-jacket trick.

Now I'm wondering who else might have stuff. I mean, I'd never have guessed that Megan knew anything like that, and we've been dormmates for six years.

Brocklehurst, maybe? Or Corner??

I can't guarantee I wouldn't slow you down, but I'd be up for flying if you need enough of us to make it a proper Club outing.

If we could wait until Saturday, I'm keen to go hunting for Octobori. But you shouldn't wait if you can go before that, especially since Saturday's the last day of hols and people will be wanting to do family things and pack and wotnot.

Maybe we could try to get away on a Saturday this term and see if we can find any of them in the north. There must be one--maybe more, y'know? But we'd have to think about how we'd get permission to go and not have anyone go with us we couldn't trust.

Anywiz. Sorry I'm not able to get away this week unless it's night flying. But I don't reckon that's the best way to go hunting for ward stones.
