Just a few more days.

I know this has been a rough year for everyone, but we’ve been working really hard. I think we worked harder than we would have in a normal year, because it was tougher to learn what we had to, so we made sure we learned it. Because it’s when things get really hard that people find out what they’re made of. And we kept trying learn in spite of everything, so I guess that means we’re made out of pretty good stuff. At least that’s what I think.

And everyone will have a fair chance to show what they can do, and that’s a good thing.

Anyways. Best of luck to everybody.

I was thinking we could have one last meeting of the Defence revision group, seeing as we haven’t met the last couple of weeks. Anyone want to get together on Saturday at 4, in the usual classroom?

I was thinking we could get a bunch of us together before the exams and do the relaxing thing Professor D taught us. Especially people who had a lot riding on it. Would that be weird?

Honestly, Harry, it'll be okay. And if someone doesn't pass enough of their OWLs, we know they've got a place to go to, and we'll make sure they get there.

Sorry - it took me longer to track Helena down than I'd thought. (Especially since she was here when I was in New London on Tuesday, of course.)

What she told me is that she can officially neither confirm nor deny any specific precautions, but that she has passed on the warning of possible tampering to the head of the office (that's Madam Parthenope York, you may see her around) and to the examiners in the strongest possible terms. And that they need to be aware of not only the usual enhancement attempts they expect, but any unusual behaviour or unexpected poor performance.

Unofficially, the relevant sentence from her is "Not while I have anything to do with examinations, thank you." But she can't be everywhere, so she made sure to tell me that if any of you have any concerns at all, to report it to one of the examiners immediately, and if that's not satisfactory, you can ask to escalate it to Madam York's attention.

And. Professor Siz says that if we see anything odd during the exam, we could tell one of the examiners. And if they don't listen, to tell them we need to talk to Madame York about it.

I don't think anything will happen, but it might.

Your diligence in making sure your fellows are well-prepared is commendable, Mr Marvolo, but I should caution you that too much preparation before a period of exams can often have the opposite effect.

You have all worked exceedingly hard through very trying times this year, and should be very proud of your accomplishments. Though examinations are always stressful, I believe you will all find that your preparations will pay off. Do be certain to take time for yourself this weekend, and take care you do not allow your concern for others to overshadow your own preparations!

I figure right now it's more about nerves than anything, so I was going to go over easy stuff that everyone already knows. And work on meditation too.

And yeah. I won't work all weekend.

Meditation is an excellent idea. As is a good night's sleep, a solid meal -- which is, thankfully, now possible -- and the knowledge that you are all as prepared as we can make you.

You will all do just fine.

Anywiz, I'm knocking off for tonight and was thinking about going up to the top of the Divination steps to play bounders with the sorcelled balls I bought at Zonko's. They're meant to rebound twice as fast and half-again as far as you throw them. Want to come?

Can I bring my kitten Fang? Only he does not like people very much right now. But if I leave him behind, he cries. So we will stay off in a corner and not bother anybody. If we come. Which I am not sure.

My Patronus still does not work again.

He can come, yeah.

And remember, it's good to know how to do one, but they're not going to ask you to do a Patronus for the practical exam. Because they don't expect everyone to be able to do it. So as long as you're solid on the other stuff, you should be fine.
